This is a 1938 MAC Velocette. I used to own a 1951 model - the engine looked just about identical. I can vividly remember getting stranded on a long trip when a stone broke the line leading from the oil reservoir to the base of the engine, draining the whole tank onto my rear tyre. An exciting few moments!
