These photos are from Seward Alaska and the surrounding area. Resurrection Bay is a year round ice free bay and Seward is on the northern edge of the bay. From there I traveled by boat to Kenai Fjord and the pictures of the whale, seals, sea lions, puffins and Eagles were taken in the Kenai Fjord. Eric, our boat captain was in a fine mood as we were at sea on a sunny clear day. Eric said he had seen 14 such days since April 2006. The Alaska coast is a rain forest and constantly rainy. He was able to get the boat into some incredibility tight spaces. Suzie, our Park Service guide was a big help and had lots of information. I had a visit to glaciers around the town of Seward and an Iditarod dog kennel are all pictured. This trip was started on August 21 2006. The Kenai Pennisula is home to Kenai National Park and some of the most beautiful scenery in the United States. The drive to Seward is very impressive.
