The first station up the line, Wasilla, Alaska. Home of Sarah Palin if you are a fan.

Dr. Seuss House is located in Willow, Alaska, just outside the train window. Its located a few hundred yards off the tracks. I took my best shot. “Dr. Seuss” house has about 12 stories, it was built and left unfinished for the almost 10 years, and just recently (2012) was finished. The house was dubbed with the name “Dr. Seuss” house by the local people of Willow, and as you can see in the photo, it makes perfect sense. Living proof the builder was not a member of some homeowner association.

We stopped in Talkeetna, Alaska. It is near Mt. McKinley in the southeast corner of Denali National Park, still raining. The engine is named on its nose the "Spirit of Moose Pass". You don't get a name like that just anyplace.

This is a privately contracted tourist train run by one of the cruise lines. They are pulling over onto a side track and we will head north as soon as the mainline is clear.
