With an almost two meter wingspan, the gannet is about the same size as a white-tailed eagle. While we stood on a sheer cliff 230 meters above the Norwegian Sea in gale force winds, fighting to keep our balance, the gannets floated effortlessy before us performing aerial acrobatics.
