Kim: the photos are fantastic. I first became aware of your work in the recent issue of "Lake Superior Magazine." They did a nice feature on you and it inspired me to look up your online galleries. And I've spent hours here, one photo after another takes my breath away. I love Lake Superior and Duluth and visit every summer, I live near Brainerd and always go through McGregor, now I'll think of you when I do. Have you taken any of Glensheen? Once again, beautiful work, I'm hooked.

As a native of Duluth living in Montana these picutres help to make me not so homesick. I'm glad to see that I can come here and get a little piece of home whenever I need it. Thank you these pictures are gorgeous!

I once lived in Duluth and hope to eventually retire there - your wonderful photos are just incredible and capture the beauty and raw nature of the area. Thank you ever so much for sharing with the world just how delightful Duluth is!

Beautiful. Thank You.

As a fellow Twin Porter (we live next to Pattison Park) I've browsed through your beautiful galleries many times, but haven't gotten around to commenting til now. Then, tonight, while looking through "routerer"'s images, i left a comment on one of his England photos right after one of your comments. And I thought it's high time I let you know how much I appreciate your work. We've probably crossed paths many times in the Duluth area, as evidenced most recently by our Beargrease galleries. I'll be back with more comments later on.

Your pictures are by turns witty, playful, thought-provoking, elegant...but always reverent. I recently passed through Duluth on my motorcycle, heading around Superior; your city struck a chord with me, but you have played a smphony. Thank you Kim.

A true Minnesota artist at work! Congrad! Please give us some images of Winona when I went to school. Your work is one of the best in the pbase universe.
Cindy 22-Sep-2004 04:46
Your pictures are stunning, I have been doing digital photography for about 4 years now, and recently upgraded to the Digital Rebel, still trying to master it. What camera do you use and may I ask how you process your pictures to look so colorful and vivid? I enjoyed looking at your galleries very much, you have a great eye for composition. You sure make Minnesota inviting, you could sell your pics to them for a tourism book!!

I think your work is great!! I am an amateur photographer taking nite courses at the community college. My preference is for landscapes which puts me in the minority in class. Your work inspires me to follow my passion for Landscape Photography. Thanks

How do you get such great color saturation? Looks like Ektachrome! You must set the EV a couple of notches to the negative. Keep up the good work for you are an inspiration to us old "soupers" who are learning the digital.

Your work is awesome. You really have an eye for photography. Love the colors in so many of your images. Do you do any Photoshop work on your photos to enhance the tone and color, or do they come from the camera that way?
kyle 26-Oct-2003 15:12

Kim,

You are in my favorite artists category and I look forward to seeing more beautiful photos of your area. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where our seasons are not nearly as colorful as yours. However, born and raised in Ohio I miss the fall and winter colors.

You have done a great job with composition and capturing the mood of each vision. Keep up the great work.

Kim,
You truly have some excellent images in your gallery. Wonderful
subject matter and great composition! I especially enjoyed your
sunset/sunrise and fall color gallery's. Very nice indeed!
My only suggestion, for what it's worth, would be to thin them
out a little (the best of the best) because you have so many that
are similar. I know, it's difficult to do, especially since you
have so many great ones to choose from, but I think overall it
will improve the look of your gallery.
Thanks for sharing.
Dave
P.S. I have the same problem with my gallery, trying to decide
which one's to kick out.
David 08-Jan-2003 05:26
If you would find a sec to email, I am itching to know how you created a layer over a ligthouse shot. If this is permissable, would really like to ask for a quick 'how ya did that'....

David 07-Jan-2003 04:23
Hello,

Great shots. Craft and patience. Your craft really comes out.

Question, do you retouch your images in an editor like Photoshop by chance?

Again, super photos.

Very very impressive of your patient to record all the angle and colors in different timing - real photographer. Keep going, please show the color of mother nature. Thanks.
Cliff Gould 22-Dec-2002 15:47
Your work is consistently creative. You demonstrate a good eye and an ironic sense of contrasts. You are able to find beauty in subject matter that many would eschew as "unworthy." Your composition and framing suggests that you had experience shooting film/slides where one does not have the luxury of fixing everything in P.S. I particularly like your series of lighthouse/rainbow shots. You did not just stand in one place with jaw dropped admiring the spectacular view but moved (ran?) around looking for other angles. Thank you for your compliments regarding my small (but growing) gallery. Keep up the good work.
