. All the Pictures here are from A. W. Brummett's Slides he made while a Missionary,They are of our family and different places we lived. They were taken all around the world. Especially in the British West Indies and part of South America where he was the Superintendent for the Church Of God. Also in Africa Where he held the same possition. If you find a picture that is not labled or labled incorrectly Please let me know and I will correct it.

Greetings! I am the Mom in this family, & I very much enjoyed your photos. We were missionaries to Jamaica, Presbyterian Church, from 1956 to 1973, & taught at Knox College, Spaldings near Christiana. Our five kids grew up there, & we have some of the same types of photos! Lots of churches, plays, parties, & views of life on the Island! Our son, now living in Sweden, sent us this website! We enjoyed the pictures of Kingston Airport, the market photos, and the Jamaican children which we especially appreciated. The pictures of the Fort out on the Palisadoes, where the former "sin city" of Port Royal sunk in an earthquake were great fun to see. We have the matching pictures ourselves! For what it is worth, the Fort is called Fort Charles, and the city was Port Royal. The pirate Henry Morgan was a colorful figure in Jamaica's history. You have probably had 2,000 people tell you this already! About the former sugar estate of Rose Hall, I have the same photos, but different angles, of that old house too! The place was in the same condition! The last of your pictures, which says "Jamaica Rose Hall" showing a large building in quite good condition, with even a few flowers, I very much doubt is Rose Hall. I do not recognize where that picture is from, but I think it is not Rose Hall. Shortly before we left in 1973, they did massivly renovate the house, & it is a showplace now, charges admission, & with beautiful antiques, fabrics, wallpaper, guides, and of course the stories of the White Witch of Rose Hall. There is even a hotel nearby & a golf club! Thank you for sharing the photos...it was so very enjoyable to remember. Yours Truly, Fran Schlobohm & Family - California

Thank You for posting the pictures. Vessie D. Hargrave was my grandfather. The picture of him with the parrot was especially touching. When the parrot died it was later stuffed and I have it on my wall at this very moment. Mark
