The adult male was taking a break from courtship, it seemed, when I spotted him perched in the cover of the nest tree, a tall pine. After much consideration, we decided to call him "Thor" after the Thornton Creek watershed, which runs throughout his N. Seattle territory. It was deemed an appropriate name after we saw how fiercely he defended the nest site.
