1moremile, thanks for the compliments. I was at both candidates' Tampa Bay campaign visits. While I supported only one candidate, I was honored to be chosen to cover both.

For the Kerry assignment, the media pit was directly in front of Kerry/Edwards (I was perhaps 5 feet away, max). For the Bush assignment, the media pit was was 100+ feet away. I used a 70-200 f/2.8 lens, no flash for both, didn't know I'd be so far away from Bush. Also, he stayed at the podium, rarely moved from it during his speech. Edwards walked the entire stage during his interaction with the crowd. I was able to capture him from many different angles. You can just imagine how restricted the media was during the President's visit (I was even subjected to an FBI background check prior to the assignment... and no, I didn't mind).

I see that all the comments are over on the Kerry site. Hopefully this one will be allowed to live. While your shots look good, the Kerry/Edwards shots look more personable. Wrong lens maybe? I'm no pro. Just comparing 2 of your galleries.
