Sumatran Tigers
In 2003 three Sumatran Tigers were born at the Toronto Zoo to parents Brytne and Rengat. They were the first of their kind to be born in Canada. In 2006 two more Sumatran Tigers were born to the same parents as the 2003 litter. This picture shows one of the tigers born in 2006 (the rump of the other is visible to the left of the frame). This special because these tigers are critically endangered, with only 500 estimated to be left in the wild. This is why I feel it is important to support the zoo and its efforts in caring for these animals.
