A beautiful little bird and quite cheeky. I was sitting on my deck when this little guy came close, so I whistled at him and he kept whistling back every time I did. He checks my deck daily for someone to whistle with.

Your photos are amazing! Came here trying to identify this beautiful orange bird that was hanging around on my deck. My neighbour has a hummingbird feeder. Now I know what it is.

I went for camping last weekend (May 14-15, 2011) to Six Mile Lake Park in Port Severn, Ontario. It was raining so much and it was cold, but even it was bad for camping, my son and I enjoyed to see this wonderful bird in the forest. There were four of them playing around. Our trip paid off!!.

I came searching the web to find out what this bird was because one has been hanging out at my hummingbird feeder and has knocked out the yellow part of the feeder so it can drink the sugary water! Is this normal for this bird? I wonder why it doesn't eat at the other bird feeders with seeds

Guest: For this photo a Sigma 170-500mm was used (at 500mm of course) on my old Canon 300D Digital Rebel. Nowadays I like to use a Canon EF 300mm f/4 L. Thank you for your comments :)

Thanks loads! I saw this bird in our maple tree eating the insects that were after the budding maple leaves. Wasn't sure what it was but now I know. I hope to get a photo of it myself. Saw this in Barrie ON May 3 2009
