GOODBYE LAKEVIEW GS

The Lakeview Generating Station was located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. On June 12, 2006 its huge 493 foot smoke stacks were demolished after standing for 44 years. An arc was exploded out of the side of each stack and they fell like trees at 8 second intervals. The numbered pictures I have taken of the demolition, below, only represent about 30 seconds. The stacks, known by many locals as "The Four Sisters", were often used as a landmark for boaters on the lake, and will be missed by some. However there are some that are glad they are gone. But, like them or hate them, the stacks were part of a generating station that supplied power to millions of homes for 43 years. In any case, here are the pictures...
