We stayed 2 nights at Grootkolk in the north of the park. There are only 4 tents about 50 meters from the watering hole. There are no fences and the lions, hyenas, snakes and scorpions are free to wander.

There are always lion about, so the assistant has to carry a R1 rifle with him constantly.

The pictures here show two cubs and three females who came to drink. Later on two males came over from Botswana and fought over mating with one of the females. They walked right around the tents.
