My interest in photography began during my years in college when I was given a Kodak Retina Reflex IV camera that had a broken light meter. That broken light meter forced me to use the exposure recommendations that came with the film as a guide to correct exposure and to bracket my exposures to get good photographs. Estimating the correct shutter and aperture settings, recording the exposures, and observing the results on slides helped me to acquire an understanding of the fundamentals of light, lenses, and film. Those early experiences were rewarding and have led to a lifelong passion for photography.
Currently I'm using the following photographic equipment:
Canon EOS 10D, Canon EOS 630 35mm film
Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 XR Di LD, Canon 50mm f1.8 (a fantastic bargain of a lens), Canon 75-300mm f4-5.6 lens, Canon EFS 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 (modified to fit 10D)
M42 adapted lenses: Mamiya-Sekor 55mm f1.4, Helios 44M 58mm f2.0, Mir 1B 37mm f2.8, Pentax Super Takumar 135mm f3.5
Salyut C medium format 6X6cm camera (Kiev 88 or Kiev C lens mount)
Vega 90mm f2.8 lens, Mir 65mm lens, Jupiter 250mm lens
Kiev 6 medium format 6X6cm camera (Pentacon Six (P6) lens mount)
Volna 80mm f2.8 lens, Arsat 30mm f3.5 fisheye lens, Zeiss Jena 50mm f4 Flektogon
--Latest Addition: shift adapter to use my Pentacon Six mount (P6) lenses on my Canon 10D body! Also, a conventional adapter to use P6 lenses on the 10D. See "Lens and Equipment Tests" gallery for more information.
