One of the activities held during the week-long Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque is a competition that requires pilots to fly into the launch field and place a small plastic ring on one of the poles placed on the field. Pilots have to choose a launching spot away from the field and located so that prevailing winds will take them over the launch field.
