The Village of Corrales is a small oasis near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The village is bordered on the east by the Rio Grande and the Sandia Pueblo. Albuquerque lies to the south and the city of Rio Rancho lies to the west and north. The population of the greater Albuquerque area is well over a half million. Corrales has about 8,000 residents.

The village maintains a rural lifestyle. Prehistoric sites indicate the Corrales Valley has been occupied from around 500 A.D. when the ancestors of the present-day Native Pueblans farmed the valley. Subsequent populations, including Hispanic, European and American families, settled here to raise grapes, apples, and livestock. Today, Corrales is distinguished by its broad green pastures and orchards, its rich historic and artistic character, and of course the sounds and scents of roosters, cows, horses and sheep.

Visitors to Corrales experience another time and place where the pressure and stress of city life gives way to the grace and pace of an earlier era.

Corrales is a diverse, welcoming and tolerant community. We have no traffic lights, speed limits are strictly enforced, wildlife is respected and its residents include farmers, artists, wine makers and professionals, many who like being known as friendly, uncommon and unconventional folk.
