the flight from Nadi to Kiritimati leaves once a week, at one minute to midnight every Tuesday
and arrives Kiritimati at 0630 (local time) on wednesday. because we were delayed for about
12 hours, the flight was undertaken in daylight hours and we could therefor see this atoll as
we passed it about three hours into the trip. Tokelau group has a population of 1,392
according to the CIA "The World fact book", and is made up of three islands, Atafu,
Nukunonu and Fakaofo, with a total land area of 10 square kilometres.
each island has one village and the group is under administration
of New Zealand.
