I was a Southern OH-23 IP from Aug '65 to Sep '69.
When I started and, I think through '66 all I remember at the gate was a lone OH-23 on the pedestal where the TH-55 is in this photo. I don't know when the TH-55 was added.

I'm almost sure if you look at the reverse side of this gate on the square peice of metal you would see..built by class 67-5 we built this as a class project in the fall of 1966. My oldest daughter Tina was born in Beach Army Hospital. I served as a IP at ft walters from Oct 1968 to Sep 1970. I'M NOW 61 AND STILL SERVE AS A FLIGHT COMMANDER FOR PRIMARY AT FT RUCKER ALABAMA
