Khamsouk is cooking a dish with fresh rattan. Khamsouk is a young Khmu woman, who studies in Vientiane, but in holidays id back in her village, Ban Chaloensouk, about 15 km outside Luang Namtha town.
She invited us to her village for a meal, and used the opportunity to demonstrate a few Khmu dishes to be included in the cookbook. My wife, Dorothy Culloty, who is writing the book, sits and records the ingredients and cooking process.

The book is finished now (May 2010), and will hopefully be printed in the next few months.
