Christmas Pole
This was just one of the many incredible Christmas lights in front of homes in Christmas Card Lane, a group of several blocks in Rancho Penasquitos in San Diego that do up their homes! SOOO fun to see and walk around in!

Phoenix Graduated!
So proud, Phoenix passed his obedience class with flying colors! The other pet parents called him a "show off". Yes, we're lucky!

Fern
The San Diego Botanical Gardens is quite exquisite- we're very lucky to have flowers here in December! It's been crazy cold in the morning and night, but this afternoon it was in the 70s again, go figure. This was taken with an older manual macro Nikon lens I got for a song- it takes exquisite shots, but the aperture is f0 so if you so much as breath it gets out of focus!

Christmas Boat
Not enough room for a tree with our tiny apartment, plus we're heading back East for the holidays, so we decided to use our model sailboat as a surrogate tree. I actually like the look of it!
Eye Spy With My Little Eye...
This iPad is too much fun!!

Guess What This Is!
First one who guesses correctly gets a star!
Was supposed to go running tonight, but it's so darn COLD! Wow my blood has thinned since moving here from New York two years ago, I am such a cold weather wimp! We'll see what happens with that half marathon I'm supposed to be doing in a month and a half (trying not to laugh, or whimper when thinking of it).

Phoenix says Happy Howlidays!
It's been soooo long since I did the photo of the day, I figured I would start up again!
Phoenix became a part of our family about six months ago, and I can't exaggerate what an amazing dog he is. I saw him on the street being walked by a woman with a large pink hat, and was like, what an amazingly gorgeous and regal dog! I was sooo jealous of the woman and stopped my car on the side of the road to meet him. That's when I found out he was part of the Coastal German Shepard Rescue, and staying at Animal Keeper just around the corner. He instantly leaned against me and gave me big kisses when he met me, and I fell hard in love.
I cried and cried to hear he didn't have a home, and was so surprised that such a sweetheart was waiting to be adopted. I took a photo of him and sent it to my husband, who said he would meet him the next day, and also sent the photo of him to my landlord, who initially didn't allow dogs. Needless to say my husband also fell in love instantly, and my very sweet landlord made an exception for him- it really did fall into place!
I can't get over how incredibly blessed I am to have Phoenix in my life. He is so well behaved and obedient, sweet to me and strangers, great with other dogs, and super mellow. I couldn't have asked for a better dog and perfect temperament, I find it amazing that I knew within the first second of seeing him that he was an incredible dog!

Merry Christmas From Our Home to Yours
Merry Christmas from the Clark/Moncure household!
Have had a nice visit with my family in upstate New York! So many nice memories...spending time in front of the fire, being in my parents' beautiful home on the lake, seeing old friends in Schenectady and New York City...
We were at a bar in the Upper East Side when the jukebox kept playing JayZee and Alicia Keye's song, "New York"- quite a surreal experience!
Will be very sad to leave family...but I am no longer used to the cold, cold weather!

Nutcrackers!
This is the entryway of our house, my sister is a BIG fan of nutcrackers! I think she's got 50 of them, between the ones on the mantel, all over the house, ornaments, and of course these guys. All very unique!
Had a nice day today, took advantage of the free Tuesday admission for San Diego residents, went to the Museum of Photographic Arts and saw a REALLY powerful exhibit on Indian women by Fazal Sheikh...pretty harsh and eye opening...

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!
From the "December nights" at Balboa Park...nice event, a LOT of people, several museums were free and open late, had a fair with a ferris wheel, foods from all over the world, photos with the Grinch, a stage with various musical acts, several trees and decorations...the only thing I didn't understand were the people with the picket boards saying we were sinners...very odd!
VERY rainy and windy today, yikes!
