Tropical Philippine Flowers

These are some flowers (and garden-related critters) that I saw during a visit to the Philippines (June and July 2007).

If you know the name of one of the flowers, please let me know so I can update the site. I asked some Filipinos the names of flowers but they weren't always certain in their responses.

The false bird of paradise is called Helliconia

One of the Filipinos that I asked was a Botanist with a college degree. Joe also is the owner of a flower business.

That last sentence in which you say that you asked "some Filipinos" about names of flowers, is inane and should be excluded.
