This is actually not the original statue of thr Black Nazarene of Quiapo. This is a replica of the original which is enthroned in the altar mayor of the church. This is the one which is used for the yearly procession every 9th of January and during Good Friday of the Holy week. Contrary to beliefs, the image did not survive a fire. Its was the natural color of the wood that was used. It must have been Rosewood perhaps.
