Because they think that it is a step towards the New World Order. They believe that the bible states that Satan will rule the earth one day under a single government. Something like that. Same reason they oppose Isreal peace with the Palestinians. Christ won't come back until the temple ont he mount is contructed. The site currently has a Mosque on it and is in the occupied territories. They believe human actions can speed the end game or the coming of Christ. Tom Delay is their hero.
