I started sewing cross stitch around 1999. I'd stopped work, got fed up of doing jigsaws and thought this looked like something my tangled mind could cope with working on. Little did I know that it would become a hobby that has often held me together when at my most fragmented. I've often tried meditation and not been very good at stilling my mind, yet through the slow steady work of stitching I learned to 'be with' my troubled emotions. I learned many things, how to be patient, how to complete a task, how to give something the time it takes, as long as it takes...

Nowadays I sew less because I am engrossed in learning Computer Graphics, as you'll see from other pages on this site. But I do still almost every day.
