Resilience

I never cease to be amazed at the sheer resilience of life and spirit. This will often be brought home to me when I find something beautiful growing and blooming in the most unlikely nook or cranny, or when I hear of some amazing plant or animal that has adapted itself to live in the most hostile of environments the world can produce. In the same way the human spirit will often find it's own way to bloom even when there would seem to be no chance in such shallow soil and such fragile water supply, such a precarious toe hold on life.

I wanted to dedicate this picture to my sister, Elaine, who has many times been behind the survival of my own spirit, at times when the conditions seemed to bleak to support life.

With more love than I can ever put in words.
Kathy

This was one of the first Bryce images I felt truly satisfied to have made. I know I could do it better now, it's on my 'to do' list.
