From 30-31 March 2015, I spent some time near Winnipeg watching Snowy Owls and Snow Buntings. I was able to find at least 13 Snowy Owls on those two days, all but one of which were adult males. Also, on 30 March I counted 47,000 Snow Buntings in a relatively small area of about 10 square miles near the city of Brunkild, by the far the most Snow Buntings I have ever seen in one day- one of the highlights of the year was watching a flock of ten thousand Snow Buntings swirl around against a spectacular sunset on 30 March.
