Featuring a variety of guest speakers, exhibitors from all over the world, live performances and interactive activities, the Adventures in Travel Expo was a great place to shop for travel destinations, services and inspiration.

Saturday highlights: a talk by charismatic Andrew Zimmern, host of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods, a test ride on a Segway, learning about Fitpacking and talking to Tour Director Henry Gold about his Tour D'Afrique, a rewarding and strenuous 120-day bicycling expedition.

Sunday highlights: author Marybeth Bond who recently published Best Girlfriends Getaways Worldwide and author Patricia Schultz, who wrote 1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die; Peter Guttman's slides and tales of

I loved trying on this dance headdress from Aurba!	Who wears it better? Egianira Lampe of Aruba is a natural!	Author Marybeth Bond	Radio hosts Tonya and Ian Fitzpatrick founded Travel n' On Radio and broadcasted live from the expo.
A view of the expo from above	How do your clothes fit? Steven Silberberg came home from a backpacking vacation and noticed that his pants fit better. He said the pounds just seemed to melt off while he was enjoying the great outdoors. Inspired to help others become more active, Silberberg launched Fitpacking (www.fitpacking.com) three years ago. Now the company specializes in trips for adults aiming to lose weight.	Fit or fat? Nature doesn't care - Steven says go outside no matter your weight. Fitpacking founder Steven Silberberg said his company encourages adults with an extra 15 to 50 pounds to get moving outside on hiking trips, which can result in a slimmer physique.	I tested my body composition to see the percentages of fat, water, bone mass and more. Results not printed here.
The Sahara Dancers bellydancing was part of live entertainment that also included Irish and Hawaiian dancers and more.	You can get some exercise on the Segway. I tested one at the expo - fun! Maximum speed is 12 miles/hr. www.CitySegwayTours.com	Ted Boscana, a master of historic trades, has worked at Colonial Williamsburg for 19 years.	A refreshing taste of the tropics went well with the exhibitors from Aruba, the US Virgin Islands and more.
Henry Gold is the mastermind behind the expedition cycling tours including Tour D'Afrique.	Scuba diving was one of the popular participatory activities, along with a climbing wall and zip line.	James Dion and Stephen Thompson unveiled the Crown of the Continent MapGuide which includes pristine areas of the U.S and Canada	The Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern gave a lively talk about his show, Bizarre Foods of the World.
A young fan of the show asks Zimmern what his favorite country is with help from NG Adventure's Costas Christ.	David Larkin invites travelers to share stories and photos on the new site www.adventureus.com	Safety comes first for those wanting to try the zip line at the expo.	Away.com's Eric Brodnax was a featured speaker at the Expo's Trade Seminar.
Shannon Stowell, President of Adventure Travel Trade Assoc. and Brodnax discussed travel trends and survey results.	Henry Gold is the director of transcontinental bike tours in Africa, South American and the Orient	Dancers from the Carribean were a highlight on Sunday afternoon	What a great outfit for the red carpet! She was promoting the scuba lessons at the swimming pool.
