Thank you so much - I'm so glad I found these pictures because a) they're hilarious (esp. captions - thank god shiny bikini-woman did cover her tits and snatch, and b) its helped me make my mind up about going to the FMP myself - NO ta. How is being amongst a load of mongs who wade in (and seemingly smear themselves with) their own detritus fun?

Disgraceful! I blame the people who work there NOT THE FOREIGNERS. It's their island, if they want to let it rot thats up to them. Just like that hippie explained, everybody used to do their part back in the day. That im afraid doesnt seem to apply to nowadays. A compromise must be reached by the people in charge. The land owners, hotel staff ect. better clean up their act or they gonna lose EVEN MORE money. BUY SOME BINS YOU CHEAP BASTARDS

hilarious photos. i love the captions, especially on the freak street page. i spent several months in SEA last year and although i went to great lengths to avoid the pretentious, pseudo-hippie "ohhh, i'm a REAL traveler" assholes, it was impossible. they are everywhere! they are taking over and eating our children! RUN to the nearest beach NOT mentioned in a lonely planet guide....they'll never think to find you there!

I am a 55 year old hippie... I was in Goa in 1974.... we clean up our trash.. we where enviromental. I was on Koh Phangan, Thailand for 2 months in 1993... Koh Phangan is where the biggest Full Moon Party is held. That was the only place on the island I did not go. My Thai friends did not talk to friendly about the freaks there, the trash there.. Where do all those people go to the toilet? Man what a weird, irresponsible, commercial generation that doesn't care too much about the aftermath... Just found the link that Bazookajoe posted on ToA. Dear God! Please tell me that this is a joke, right? This is really the FMP? People actually wish to indulge in such behaviour? You're joking, right? I've been clubbing (now semi-retired from the scene) for a good 13 years and this isn't clubbing - it's a freak show, all the more horrible by the utter disdain shown by the disgusting amount of litter everywhere. To think, I had an argument with an (ex) friend in Thailand, partly due to the fact that I didn't want to attend a FMP, and a 25 year friendship was duly ended. After viewing these pictures, thank f**k I made the right decision! I feel utterly embarrassed just by viewing these pictures. You mustn't judge people so harshly, I've been to the FMP in 99 and 02 and had a really good time. This is not about Thailand or the Buddist culture, I do that in the remaining 30 days of the month, people just go there and have fun. There are also more and more young Thais, who couldn't party like this at their own places. I really don't see any harm done, they clean up the beach the next day, and everything is back to normal. People who say, they don't go to Thailand because of this or KSR, check out the rest of the country, not just Pattaya, Patong or Chaweng Beach. 90 Percent of Thai beaches still have no Bars and loudspeakers, just go and find them! BTW, I totaly agree with you on the Freak Street, that one should really be turned officially into a zoo...

I just SO see the sense in spending a small fortune on an airfare, travelling to FMP and acting like the total cunts that the Brits do in Spain, the Aussies in Bali,too, the Americans in Hawaii for a fraction of the hassle. When the animals from all these countries come here and do this, they should NEVER complain about people back home not appreciating their "culture". The smart ones are the Thais who forsake their being offended for the bulge all this shit makes in their bank accounts!

The locals don't necessarily like being invaded by eurocunts once per moon, but then again in one night they make more money selling one-dollar veggie tacos than the next four weeks as (insert low-paying island service job). The day after full moon they rake up the plastic trash and count their money. Similarly, once a year the US Marines invade Pattaya, get wasted, screw as many Thai bargirls as they can keep it up for, and drag themselves back to the boat penniless and hing over. The Thais sweep up the broken barstools and teeth and head for the bank. Ah, eco-tourism!
