Burma road cuts across the mesas & valleys by Monticello Canyon.
We entered this area by Springtime Campground in the Magdalena Ranger District of the Cibola National Forest, New Mexico. Passed by Luna Campground with amazing views across the area. Turned right on Burma Rd and followed it into Monticello Canyon. After passing through the box canyon & the water crossing we headed for Hughs Campground for the night. the campground was packed so we drove up the mtn about 2 miles to Beartrap campgrounds. It was CLOSED, we pulled into a side road & made camp for the night.
The next morning we drove to the 10,000ft plus peak and fire watch tower on Mt.Withington for some real awesome views

After heading to NM60 and going east towards Magdelena we were looking for Torreon springs rd before Sorroco NM.
Followed that road out across the valleys again crossing a lot of dry river beds until we got to the Nogal ranch not far from there the road turns into the river bed with a lot of turns and twists through the canyons, some as deep as 60ft. Not a place to be when its raining in the area or during the spring snow run off.
