Historic Village of Massoleh

Gilan Province

Masooleh is a historic village enjoying a moderate climate. Local architecture, springs, waterfalls, River and dense forests all make it an attractive tourism spot. Masooleh's integrated architecture and its houses are of two stories.
These comprise of an entrance corridor, callers and other unique architectural features, and are linked to each other by a staircase. The terrace of each house is the court-yard of the house above. Masouleh architecture is unique. The buildings have been built into the mountain and are interconnected. Courtyards and roofs both serve as pedestrian areas similar to streets.
Fog is predominant weather feature of Masouleh.
This historic village, during its 1000 age, is an obvious type in fantastic harmony between nature and human.
