Just off the raod to Pahayokee overlook there's a dwarf cypress
swamp; it's a great place to look for wading birds. The woodstork
is an indicator of whether the water in the park is healthy and sufficient.
In years with too little water, woodstorks won't nest; if the
water is polluted, they suffer and may die or move on.
