Infrared Galleries

My collection of Infrared Galleries. All photos in these galleries were taken with either a Canon 10D-IR, or a Canon 50D-VIR. I get a lot of questions (both here, and in e-mail regarding INFRARED, and the various techniques used to create these images. I make it a point to respond to all inquiries the best I can. I am an affiliate site for LifePixel. If you use the logo below when you have your camera converted, I get a small commission from LifePixel for that sale. In return, I will be more than happy to help you get started with using your new IR converted camera. When I first got my camera converted, there were a lot of things I had to re-learn. It always helps to have someone who has already 'been there, done that' helping you out.

Hello! I feel so stupid but I just had a camera converted at Lifepixel and then was told by a friend that I would not be able to do what I wanted to do with the conversion I ordered (color enhanced). I love traditional IR with rich IR tones and I like channel swapping to get images similar to what you have showing blue tints in the sky. Can I get these more traditional effects with a 30D converted with a color enhanced filter? Thanks for any help you can give. I really can't wait to get started but worry that I may have to pay again to recovert the camera.

Jim, I just bought a second hand Nikon D-100 to have converted to IR. I'm undecided as to which level of conversion to go for. I'm really interested in the BW IR, but if one of the other filter conversions would be an advantage to have AND still offer the strong BW use, I'd probably upgrade. This will be my first stab at IR and would appreciate your input/. I'll be sure to reference/use your site for conversion thru LifePixel. You might as well make a buck ! Thanks, Jim

Wow, I love them all. I use an R72 filter for mine now, but I just can't get the colors like this. .......I have a 10D just sitting and wiating for a rebirth. : )

Jim Great stuff. I had my Nikon D1x converted by life pixel and most recently had a Canon SD800 converted as well. There are a few IR shots on my web site, ".www.woodpileimages.com" including the opening image of Monument Valley and more to come. I've been hooked for a couple of years

Hello Jim ~ after seeing your images a couple of months ago, I sent my D100 into Life Pixel for the enhanced color conversion. I'm getting some great images, and do B&W conversions on some, but I'm curious how you get the blue sky back into the image. My photoshop skills are limited. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. You've got some really nice work in these galleries, Jim. The next time one of my DSLRs gets replaced, I'm gonna have transform it to IR-only. There's soo many advantages over a point and shoot. I'll be back to check for updates. -Guy
