Balluminaria is one of the largest tethered hot-air balloon festivals in the country. Nearly a dozen full-size hot-air balloons are secured around Mirror Lake in Eden Park. As dusk falls, the flames that heat the air in the balloons cause them to glow -- an effect that's reflected in the water. To add to the festivities, the park folks also bring out some holiday music, mounted Cincinnati Police officers, a visit from Santa and free balloon hats and animals for the kids.
