There was a total of 9 birds in a little raft in the middle of the lake. About 200 yds away. Went home and got scope. One bird out of the nine just didn't looklike he belonged with the Ruddy Ducks. But since they were sleeping I coulndnt get a good ID. Hiked around the lake and got to about 100 yds and they started to move and show themselves better. A winter plumage Horned Grebe was hanging out with the 8 Ruddy's. Wouldn't let me get any closer for better picts.
