This much gray underside is apparently not unusual in Thayer's. Although it should be noted, that is not everyone's opinion. At least one person has suggested it is a Herring Gull. I am told though that Herring gulls are seldom if ever seen in this location, while Thayer's are here almost every winter in some number. Thanks again to those who replied to my cry for help.
