Jewel of the Himalaya's, Ama Dablam is truly one the most beautiful mountains to be found on this planet. I climbed more than a dozen 6000 and 7000m peaks and Ama Dablam was the one I enjoyed most. Mid november there were not many people on the mountain and the weather was fantastic. Seven days after arriving at base camp, I summited solo after a very enjoyable rock, snow and ice climb.
"Ama Dablam - The Matterhorn of the Himalayas
An expedition to Ama Dablam is more than just a climb. Located in the Khumbu valley of Nepal, only 12 km from the summit of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam demands the attention of every passer-by. Soaring ridgelines and super-steep faces guard the summit from all but the experienced climber. From the summit you are surrounded by a vista of peaks like no other, five of the highest six peaks in the world are clearly visible."(DCXP)
