It was 15 years since I'd been to the Lost City and I was apprehensive about crowds of people and overexploitation.Well,Aguas Calientes has about quadrupled in size-and changed its name!,the facilities are much impoved(very impressed with the Inca Pueblo Hotel),and the crowds seemed about the same as my first visit and not intrusive at all.The problem was the weather-heavy cloud and some heavy rain.I climbed up to the Sun Gate and got soaked for my efforts;a day for atmospheric shots rather than travel brochure ones.The next morning I had more fun than should be legally permissible with the hummingbirds in the hotel gardens before we returned to Cusco.Next day it was Lima and home.My third trip to Peru and it didn't disappoint-I'll be back.Hasta la vista and Viva El Peru glorioso!
