Deep in the cloud forest of the Manu National Park,Cock of the Rock Lodge lies adjacent to an active Lek of the eponymous birds. It's also a great place for hummingbirds. It's always damp here and we arrived in pouring rain which pretty much continued during our stay.My first dawn visit to the lek was deeply frustrating-I didn't get any worthwhile shots;it was just too dark.I learned, and returned twice for afternoon sessions armed with flash and the relatively fast 70-200 f2.8 and achieved better results.I had a great time trying to photograph the hummingbirds-my first real attempt and another learning experience!
