June O'Connell is a flower painter, born in Tanzania but has lived and worked in Kenya and the Far East. June says she has been influenced by the color and vibrancy of these tropical places.
"Color is very important to me, I seriously believe it brings life and warmth to a room or to an individual. I love the contrast of opposing pigments such as orange and green, I hope that my plants and flowers jump out of the picture. My paintings are intended to make all those who enjoy them feel good."
June originally trained as a nurse at The Hospital for Sick Children, Gt. Ormond Street, London and then worked in Kenya starting an Assessment Center for children with severe disabilities where she used art as a form of therapy. June has since held various health care, project management & service development posts, working for: the PCT as Stroke Coordinator, the council as Respite Coordinator, the NHS as Project Manager and the World Health Organization as a medical journalist. However, painting has always been a passion for June, she started painting at the age of six, has produced illustrations for a number of magazines, has held two exhibitions and has had her work exhibited in the RWA, Bristol (autumn exhibition). June now has a studio in Crowthorne, Berkshire UK.

Thanks for sharing your art. I am not an artist but I can say that your pictures are beautiful and very close to nature. The projection of the paintings reveal the wholeness of the image which I think is a gift.
