Camping at Lassen Volcanic National Park

Lassen Volcanic NP is part of the Cascade Mountain range in Northern California. While not a popular destination when compared to other California parks such as Yosemite and Sequoia, it has a fascinating geology, beautiful trails and lakes and a large variety of wildlife. We camped at the remote campground of Butte Lake and also at the popular Manzanita Lake campground. We spent most of our time birdwatching and hiking.
