Camping/rafting trip in the Brooks Range with Wilderness Birding Adventures. This bird is rarely seen/photographed in North America because of its remote habitat. We arrived to its breeding range by bush plane and traveled using rafts.

Even within their breeding range they are hard to find. We were fortunate enough to have found this nesting pair using the same tree cavity from last year. This is not always the case.
