Escaping rainy Sydney I hopped on a flight to Balina about 20 minutes from Byron Bay to enjoy "hippy-ville" at the Arts Factory Hostel http://www.artsfactory.com.au/. I stayed in "The Nunnery" a quant 6 bed cabin with our own kitchen and bathroom. Only two other women shared the nunnery. There were bush turkeys running around, along with babie bush turkeys and water dragons - not to mention a Bushie (aka Cockatoo) from Darwin who made jewelery out of kangaroo bones!
