Could I Be Drowning ?

Reason is such an admiral trait - but throw it out the window when you're dealing with loved ones. Uncertainty, guilt, remorse rule the day when you are making decisions for the good of an elder whom you respect and owe everything. Tomorrow my brother and I move our mother into an Alzheimer's live in care facility. Even though we play the major parts here, this affects everyone in our family in such an enormous way. Circumstances lately may be why I feel like I've been trying to sip water from a fire hose. Impossible.

Very moving image,Jenene.
I can "feel" it.
Best wishes to your mother and your family.

You have eloquently translated how you feel into a shattering image. There are times when all of us feel overwhelmed, and you speak here for all of us. The image has just enough reality in it to give an edge to the symbolism you express here, Jenene. It is as if you can hardly breathe or speak. I am sure you have the strength to manage what life has thrown your way here. My best wishes to you and your family.

A difficult path for you both...you have my sympathy.. Extreme tones lend themselves to the franticness of your situation...hope you continue to tread water!

I can see why you would try this. A very striking image. Brilliant work. Best wishes for your Mum, I understand how wrenching this feeling is.

I am sorry to hear that. It is a difficult decision, and I know that one day or another most of us have this kind of path to take.
Well illustrated!
