Great shot...there is so much here to occupy the viewer without being overpoweringly busy.

Yes, life for plants is a permanent struggle, and beauty cannot be separated from the thrown that were useful to protect the growth. Nice layering.

A rose among the thorns... Very creatively and beautifully done, Jenene. The title and Phil's words do make me appreciate its beauty and its strength even more. It's a postiive thought and I thank you for that. I'm truly impressed. Voted.

Well, once again you lead me in the right direction. My first choice for title was 'Survivor' (and I think I will change it). After living with it for awhile, I think I got off track from my original intent. Thanks, once again, Phil.

Your title implies imprisonment, yet I see this wonderful image as a metaphor for support and survival. The thorny branches are part of a flower's life line and protection. A watery context envelopes the image, appearing as both drops on the blossom and a reflection featuring a superimposed screen of watery sky and branches. That overall screen functions as nest and nourishment for the blossoms. Nests are places of nuture and rest. Water is the lifeblood of a plant. So yes -- to me it is more about nature's survival mechanisms, not about an imprisoned spirit, plant, or life.
