As I said earlier, the Lensbaby must be used to say something if it is to be an effective tool for expression. In this case, it certainly does. The ship seems to be a metaphor for the Flying Dutchman -- to forever wander the seas without ever seeing land again. The city becomes past tense here -- the present exists only on board this ship. Such is the nature of diffusion here.
