Fire in the Sky

Taken from the road above my house - the fire started on Camp Pendleton
but threatened surrounding neighborhoods, so they were evacuated.
Looks like they dodged the bullet this time

You could have done photojournalism here, but it is far more than this. The timing with the water bomber is excellent, and so is the composition.
We had a wet summer which prevented us from having too many this year.

It looks like an image of Dante's Inferno, Jenene.

No doubt about it there is beauty in all things, even bush fire.

Makes for a gorgeous sunset but I hate that you guys get fires all the time!!!!!

The tiny planes add scale and the setting sun, shrouded in smoke, speaks of dangers to come. It seems like you must deal with such anxieties every year, Jenene. I hope all will be well.

oh my, what an end-of-the-world feeling in this image!

I like how you have got the waterbombers in the picture.
It seems a constant threat, but one to which you must be used to. It seems a frightening thing to cope with.
Take care.
