NGC 5395 spiral galaxy type Sb and NGC 5394 spiral galaxy type SBb/P in Canes Venatici. Together
these galaxies form Arp 84 in the Arp Atlas and are in the class of “Spiral Galaxies with a High
Surface Brightness Companion on Arms”. Taken May 2, 3, 7 and May 11, 2010. Imaged with CCD Lab’s
Q285M Camera and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. This is a crop of a larger image

The L subframes were 5 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB frames were 2.5 minutes binned 2x2. The final
total exposures were L : R : G : B (min) = 290 : 60 : 60: 60. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and
sigma combined in Iris with final processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
