Pedraza (Segovia - Spain)

Pedraza is a medieval town near to Segovia (Castilla y León) and not far from Madrid; it was designated as Monumental Site in 1951.

The rock on which Pedraza stands today was originally inhabited by the Celtiberian in the 4th century BC; later, it was occupied during Roman times. The first historical document to mention Pedraza dates back to the 10th century, when Count Fernán González launched an attack conquered Sepúlveda, Pedraza and Segovia from the Moors.
