Last weekend three district assemblies were held in Georgia.
In Zugdidi: attendance 1900, 25 baptized; in Gori 2,300, with 23 baptized; in Tsnori attendance 1,600, 43 baptized. The Zugdidi assembly was particularly touching as this was the site of a violent attack by policemen and militia in 2000. When we visited the assembly site in 2003, weeds and bushes had grown over and it was even difficult to locate of the platform. The brothers worked hard to clean up the site, rebuild the platform and other facilities. The assembly was well organized and the drama was excellent. As you can see from attached photos, our brothers and sisters were clearly elated to be able to assemble together again, after 4 years of not being able to hold district conventions.
