We were discussing mountain photography in the store and you said you wanted to show me another photographer's work.
Nice photos, by the way.
Back in 1970 or so, I used a Nikkormat FTN (then later an Nikkormat EL) for many years as my main camera along with a Mamiya C330. It was a wonderful camera, even after I got a Nikon F I continued to use it. I recently was given a black Nikkormat just like my long gone one and along with the 50m F2 and a 135m F3.5 lens went out and shot a couple of rolls. What a greatcamera, theres just something solid and well built about it that makes it a pleasure to use. Totally reliable. Of course now I have used digital for my work for many years (a Nikon D40) but I find for pleasure I take out one of my film cameras, either the Leica M3, the Nikkormat or the Rolleiflex. One of my favourites that I use the most is a Fuiji 690bl which gives pinsharp 6x9 cm negs with rangefinder ease. Fantastic. Thank you for showing your Nikkormat photos. Regards Alan Simpson (New Zealand)

Thanks for the comments JR, Welcome to pbase.
Nice pics JR! Quite a range of subjects too!
I happended upon your gallery today and was quite pleased to see your images. I especially liked the Mt. Si image in autumn (ok, slightly envious I have to admit)! I live in Sultan, WA and have also photographed our beautiful corner of the globe for well over 30 years. Like you I also recently completed a massive project to scan all my slides to my computer (a four year project) and am now going through them to cull out the best of the best. If you have a moment or two, please check out my galleries at www.pbase.com/jimstiles. I now shoot digital and as time permits I am getting caught up on my digital workflow and posting those as well.
