Horses Before the Storm - (2000)

One of my all-time favorite images.

Taken in June of 2000 along the eastern side of The Sierra-Nevada Mountains. The pasture is along U.S. Highway 395 about 2 miles northwest of Bridgeport, California. The mountains in the background are along the northern boundary of Yosemite Park.

Less than 10 minutes after capturing this image - the area was slammed with a powerful storm. Rain, wind, lightning, thunder, and golf-ball sized hail. It was exhilarating.

hey stephen! finally made it over... :) today has been my check-out 'other' blogs day as i have been meaning to and just not getting around to it, time-wise. of course, i figured starting with your personal favorites was an excellent place to begin! such a beautiful shot here -- i remember this magical shot and many others from Am3. simply beautiful -- and what a great storm building in the background!
